I’m going to see my disability adviser tomorrow to see if I can get this library crap sorted out. I’m not sure if I should complain about the man because there isn’t much they can do really… sucks.

Some people are complete ignorant asses.
I went to the library today with a friend to print out something and as I go in one of the staff ask me “what floor are you going to?” I said “I don’t know yet because we’re printing out something” (there are computers on every floor and its very difficult to find one thats free).
I’ve been asked this before and didn’t know why, so I asked and she said “Incase of a fire, we need to know which floor you’re on because the lift shuts down”
She seemed a bit defensive but I just said ok and went off.
When we came back there was a different man at the desk and we about to go past when he said to my friend “Do you look after her?”
I said “No, I look after myself” he then says completely ignoring my comment, “Are you her minder?” she looked confused, so I said “No she’s a friend and I can look after myself”
Ignoring me again he says to her “we need to know which floor she is going on for emergencies”
I’ve never been so pissed off. A ‘minder’ Not a carer. A ‘minder’ like I’m a fucking child! And looking straight past me is so insulting.

I can’t really remember, look on my personal tag for my x-rays if you’re curious.

Nope.

I have had surgery.

A lot of people know.
6. On a scale from 1-10 ; how bad is your pain?
0! Although the metal work can be uncomfortable sometimes.
7. What is your best fashion tip and favorite place to shop for clothes for your scoliosis (brace)?
I have no idea, as i never wore a brace. Although if anyone is in a wheelchair I recommend skater dresses :)
8. How has scoliosis changed you?
It’s changed me in an indirect way.. well I don’t know because the surgery screwed up so actually it changed everything in my life including myself now I think about it ha.
9. What is the best and worst part about having scoliosis?
Best part, without it I wouldn’t be who I am today. Worst part, that exact same reason ha! Nah I think it would be the surgery.
